Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries in Knightdale

This place has some of the best shakes I have ever tasted. They use real ice cream and toppings. The burgers are pretty good too. Smaller than I am used to but the toppings you can put on the burger make it worth it.

The staff is friendly and the frozen custard treats are very good. But, the burgers are greasy and can be rubbery in places. Tonight's double burger had so much grease it soaked the bun. Tater tots are very good but they're probably Ore-Ida frozen. Not much you can do to ruin tots. Stick with Whataburger for your burger cravings. Hwy 55 just doesn't cut it here.

Extremely disappointed. Burgers were nothing like their pictures. I was expecting some big bad burger especially since you know hwy 55 "burgers" but unfortunately did not get that. Tiny burgers bland meat. French fries were just bulk French fries. Basically mcds had better food. Mildly good service waitress was slow. Won't be back

First time visiting here and we will definitely be back! Food was great! If you are looking for home style burger with great flavor this place is it! Server was absent a bit but we were still taken care of by the nice gentleman that prepared and brought us our food. He made sure we were taken care of! Overall great experience

Great place for a 50s party! Our fries and tots were a little too salty for everyone but we will visit again.

Favorite new burger place. I have taken friends and family there as well and they all love it. Staff is friendly and it seems like something new is always added to the menu

My wife and I stumbled upon this great place one day and it's one of our favorites. We just placed a online order today and when I went it to pick it up it smelled so clean and looked clean also but it's always like that but with the covid -19 going on and by the smell of cleanliness I knew we made a great choice for lunch today and the customer service is always awesome

Very friendly service, quick to receive our food. Greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. Food was average nothing amazing but hit the spot. Frozen yogurt delish.

Service was great and timely, food was plenty in portion and the burger is cooked with seasoning and had melting cheese. It was a great burger to say the least . The custard is some of the best ice cream I've had. I highly recommend this 50's diner

I would give 5 stars but the last time I went I tried the fries pickles for the first time and it was like dry potato chips and not pickles at all in there! The shakes are my favorite here!!! I’m a Pescatarian(only eat water meat) and they have great shrimp options here, nice change from other burger places.

It was good. I used to work there when it was Le Peep so it's been awhile since I've been inside. It was very different. Good burgers and fries.

Surprisingly good! Didn't have very high hopes, but went because we were close by. Everyone ordered a burger (kids included). Burgers were are very good...looked and tasted handmade.Next time I am going to try the BLT!

Wasnt expecting anything special... ordered the shrimp po boy and All American burger. They were DELICIOUS... being from Louisiana, I tend to be critical of po boys. This place is so flavorful and well cooked. Will be back...

Really cute old fashion diner themed restaurant. Home made burgers, make sure to order the Andy size burgers 1/3rd lb burgers bc the other option is a "little size" and it is just that "little" will not fill you up. Had the option to have chili cheese fries instead of regular fries and they were sooo good. The kids meal is served in a cute paper Cadillac that my son enjoyed and took home with him. Will come back!

Wish we didn't wait so long to try this place. We were warmly greeted and our waitress Christy was great. Best oreo shake and Philly cheese steak of anywhere else ive been around here! Will def be back.

Food was fine, service was bad. This was a couple months ago and I haven't been back since. I ordered a milk shake and a Philly cheese steak to go. I was there early and there was one other table there. I got my sandwich in less then 10 minutes which is fine. It took at least another 10 minutes to get my shake. In the time I was there, only one other table had come in. There was a cook behind the grill and another woman with him. Neither of which moved to try and speed up service. It took me 20 minutes to get a shake in a practically empty restaurant. By the time my shake came out my sandwich had completely soaked through the paper bag it was in so when I picked it up the sandwich fell out the bottom. This would be zero stars but the shake was decent and so was the Philly. Needs employees that actually care about service regardless if it's a to go order or a dine in.

Great food! Onion rings are crispy! Fries crispy but soft! Great chicken tenders! Great tasting burgers! Delicious shakes and real ice cream!

Had a burger and fries after church this weekend. This is a very retro diner atmosphere with records on the walls and a 1950's kinda theme. The food was great, price was reasonable, the service was quick and they came by several times to check on us. Can't beat that. Love that place.

Writing this as I’m sitting here, I usually don’t leave any reviews but I had to comment on this place. First of all it’s a very clean and calm place and the service was great thanks to Shawn I believe that was his name,a young man with glasses. He opened the door for us as we were walking in to the building, answered our questions, and was very friendly! He kept checking up on us and was patient with us. It’s our first time ever being here and we will be coming back.

Great place for hot, fresh burgers & fries! Some pretty good menu choices as well. The shakes are great, but I'm more a fan of their lemonade.

The bacon pimento cheese burger was amaaaazing. Everyone in our party - and there were 20+ of us there for my son's 6th birthday, the private room was perfect - enjoyed their entree. We WILL be back.

I come out of my way to eat here at least once a month. The food is incredible, the staff is amazing, and the custard is phenomenal. It's just all around amazing, give it a try people

Delicious 1/3 pound burger with a generous amount of thick sliced bacon. Perfectly crisped tater tots and a drink round out a full meal for less than $10. Great value, I will be back for sure. It surprised me too, but better than the place across the street.

After browsing a food delivery service's website, we came across this place. We have seen it when going to the grocery store right next door, but it never attracted our attention to stop for a bite. But the cheesesteak club looked appetizing so we ended up ordering from here: the Chicken Platter and the All-American Cheesesteak. The only thing that was good from the platter was the sourdough bread. The chicken tenders seemed like re-fried leftovers and the fries were not tasty - nor the tenders. The meat on the cheesesteak was delicious although it had more cheese then I would have liked. I choose tater tots as my side and they were also good - way better then the fries. Overall, we were not too impressed with the food.

My husband loves hamburgers so when we were going up there for something we decided to try out hwy 55. The bacon cheeseburger is absolutely phenomenal my husband actually got jealous of my burger after tasting it. Very friendly staff. And the shakes are awesome! I don’t really have anything negative to say about our experience. I try to be fair and give both sides of it but I can’t because there’s only one side it’s awesome.

I love coming here! The place itself is super cute! The staff is always very friendly and the food comes out super fast! The onion rings are fantastic and I love how refreshing the orangeade is! I even brought my grandmother and she enjoyed it too.

My family loves this place. We have had several different foods off the menu and there has not been one we didnt like. Everything has tasted great. The shakes are delicious. We definitely give five stars.

I loved the John boy and Billy’s burger! It was soo good. I haven’t had that sauce in forever so it was a real tree. We even got a sample of the custard which was incredible! #newspot

The burger was kind of bland and the bun was super greasy and smashed. Bacon is served burnt and super hard. It's like they made really crispy bacon let it cool down, and then threw it in the microwave for 10 minutes. Overall I wouldn't reccomend this place. I will say the staff is super friendly, but the food is not very good in my opinion.

Like walking into a time machine, HWY 55 gets high marks first and foremost for creating a diner that actually looks like it belongs in the 50s. A friendly staff, including the cooks, greet you the moment you enter and we had great service all around. The hamburgers were delicious, although just a tad smaller than expected. But given the fair prices, I wasn't disappointed. The thing this location lacked was a working jukebox that played vinyl. That would have made the experience complete.

Food was great and service was quick but 2 of the servers were coughing directly in their hands without frequent washing the entire time I was there. I felt like I was going to get sick just from being near them.

OMG this place is AMAZING!!! Staff is super friendly and just overall great people. We go here at least 2 or 3 times a month. Always clean inside and greeted with a smile..
